Cato-Meridian Jr.-Sr. High School inducts new National Honor Society members

Cato-Meridian Jr.-Sr. High school celebrated its annual National Honor Society induction ceremony on Wednesday evening, honoring students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, service, leadership and character.
The event recognized both current and new members of the prestigious organization. Current members include Maggie Brown, Hannah Hulbert, Ella Lasinski, Rylee Napolitano, Kennedy Taylor, James Wilkinson, Everett Cox, Megan Kyle, Rachel Lighthall, Bailey Planck and Dixie McLain-Tindall.
New inductees were welcomed into the society during a formal candle-lighting ceremony. Junior inductees are Camryn Daggett, Jenna Davis, Aurelia Eckel, Emelia Fisher, Adalyn Gochanaur, Zay Gunnip, Triton Schmidt, Evan Stonecypher, Ian Stonecypher, Ashley Watchorn, Aubrey Watchorn, Carmella Weatherstone and Gavin Windhausen. Senior inductees are Gavin Dello Stritto, Rhys Napolitano and Mathew Winks. Honorary members Caterina Eugeni and Jenna Krijnsen were also recognized.
Principal Jennifer Kelly, National Honor Society advisors Lisa Byrne and Jennifer Taylor, Board of Education Vice President Jenny Kyle, and Superintendent Dee Froio shared messages of pride and encouragement with students and families.
Co-presidents Megan Kyle and Bailey Planck spoke on behalf of the organization, reflecting on the four pillars of the National Honor Society and welcoming the new members. The ceremony highlighted the students’ hard work and commitment to academic excellence.
The National Honor Society is one of the nation’s premier organizations recognizing outstanding high school students. Members are selected based on the pillars of scholarship, service, leadership and character, which guide their work throughout the years in academics and community service.
